Meet the Stewarts: Michelle and Eric

A hot and humid summer day...  Fragrant flowers... A beautiful white dress... A tuxedo... And a couple whose love made me believe there is such a thing as happily ever after.  They smile at each other as if there is no place they would rather be.  They recited their vows as if they were speaking from their souls.  They danced together as if they were the only two in the room.
Michelle and Eric, congratulations on the start of your life together.

As we were shooting details, Michelle was just sitting there hanging out awaiting that moment of putting on her dress and walking down that aisle to become Mrs. Stewart.  I love this shot of her.

SHOES!

love the excitement in the room

Michelle's mom gave her this garter and it was not just any garter...  Her mom made it out of the lace from her own wedding dress used the same blue in Michelle's wedding colors and then added her Grandmother's pendant.

girl. you are stunning.

I don't know if you know this about me, but before I started LeLe with Ashley, I managed a hair salon.  I have been a hairstylist/make-up artist for 12 years.  It can really come in handy for our photography clients.  Case in point, Michelle and Eric's wedding day was a typical hot St. Louis day with 90% humidity and scattered rain showers.  After the ceremony, we took pictures outsides of the church and by the arch grounds.  As we were leaving there and headed to City Garden for more pictures I noticed the humidity was getting the best of Michelle's long beautiful curls.  I asked if she was planning on re curling it for the reception.  She said she wasn't and asked me if it looked okay...  and I offered to put it in an up-do for her.  She was probably a little hesitant, but Ashley reassured her. While Ashley followed the bus, I did an up do on the way to the City Garden.  I have done more up dos than I can count, but I must say....doing an up do on a moving party bus, with less than 10 minutes to do so and an entire wedding party looking at me like, why is the photographer doing Michelle's hair was a definite first!  But the smile on Michelle's face as she looked at a picture of her hair on the back of her bridesmaids camera made me feel like I somehow had contributed to making her day that much more special.  And that is what it is all about to us.  :)

This is that moment of the day that gets me.  Every time.  I don't know what it is, but it's a good thing it's dark and I have a big camera hiding my face.  I love this picture of Michelle's dad.  He is beaming with pride.
I love sneaking the bride and groom out for a few night shots!
